JT Sextet

The JT Sextet is a group comprised of young, local SA musicians - Johnny Turner (saxes), Ollie Farnan (trombone), Hugo Evans (guitar), Edmund Black (piano), Daniel Cavallaro (basses), and Jackson Mack (drums). They play gigs at a variety of venues (including the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Ern Malley (pictured to the left), the West Oak Hotel, Hal's Hall etc

This group plays music curated by Johnny, all in the jazz and jazz-adjacent genres, with an emphasis on compositions and arrangements by Johnny. Catch our next gigs on Johnny's 'gig guide', or his instagram/facebook.

This group recorded Johnny's debut album "The Journey to Come", which is available on all streaming services.

JT Jazz Orchestra

The JT Jazz Orchestra is Adelaide's newest big band project, with 5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, and a full rhythm section. This band performed 9 of Johnny's original pieces (and one from 5th trumpet player Marco) at Norwood Live on the 28th of August 2026, to a packed house!

This project emphasises compositions by Johnny for the large jazz ensemble. You can catch their next performance via Johnny's 'gig guide', or his instagram/facebook. This project aims to perform twice per year - once for the Fringe season, and once in August. Stay tuned for more details!
